Driver shortage prompts action from legislators

January 30, 2025 – The United States trucking industry continues to face a significant challenge: a shortage of drivers. As of late 2024, the American Trucking Association (ATA) estimated that the industry was short more than 80,000 drivers, with projections suggesting this number could exceed 160,000 by 2030.
