🌟   January Student of the Month: Marcus David Almodovar

Patterson High School | Truck Driver Training Program

The Next Generation in Trucking Association is proud to recognize Marcus David Almodovar, a senior at Patterson High School, as our January Student of the Month.

Marcus was inspired to enroll in the trucking program after watching his sister successfully complete the course two years ago. Since joining the program, he has consistently demonstrated strong leadership, professionalism, and a genuine commitment to promoting a positive image of the trucking industry.

Throughout the school year, Marcus has gone above and beyond in his involvement, volunteering his time to:

  • Participate in Wreaths Across America
  • Assist with the Soza Memoria Truck Show, supporting fundraising efforts for the Dyslexia Foundation
  • Help wash and detail the program’s training equipment

Marcus says one of his favorite aspects of the program is the ATS Training Simulators, which provide hands-on learning through realistic driving scenarios:

“The simulators allow us to practice traffic situations, road conditions, and vehicle issues—things that are important to understand before driving a real truck.”

Looking ahead, Marcus plans to earn his Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), attend college, and pursue a career with a local food service or beverage delivery company, where he can apply both his technical skills and strong work ethic.

He also hopes more young people understand the responsibility that comes with the profession:

“Truck driving isn’t as easy as it may seem. It requires attention to detail and being thorough to ensure safety for yourself and others on the road.”

We are grateful for Marcus’s leadership and dedication and look forward to seeing the impact he will make as part of the next generation of trucking professionals.
