Eastern Wyoming College | Truck Driver Training Program
Raised on a farm, Robert “Bo” Baumgartner has always had a passion for trucks and the trucking industry. Growing up around agriculture and equipment helped shape his interest in becoming a professional driver and showed him the important role trucking plays in keeping America moving.
One of Bo’s favorite parts of the program at Eastern Wyoming College has been the opportunity to work alongside great instructors and people who support students pursuing careers in trucking. His proudest moment so far was successfully passing his CDL test — a milestone that brought him one step closer to his future career goals.
Bo encourages other young people interested in trucking to take the leap and pursue it. “If it’s something you want to do, just get after it!” he shared. He also sees trucking as a great opportunity for those involved in agriculture, especially as an alternative career path or seasonal work during the winter months.
Bo’s instructor describes him as “INCREDIBLY motivated,” noting that as a high school senior, he is already in the process of purchasing his own 80-acre farm. His instructor also believes strongly in the future of younger drivers entering the industry, sharing, “We believe in the next generation of truck drivers. We want them to have good access to their trucking career. I believe that these younger generations of drivers will be some of the best — shifting back to old-school trucking ideas.”
Next Generation in Trucking Association is proud to recognize Robert “Bo” Baumgartner as Student of the Month and celebrate his hard work, motivation, and commitment to the future of trucking.
