🌟 August Student of the Month: Kellan Burke

Patterson High School | Truck Driving Program

Kellan’s love of driving, adventure, and exploring new places inspired him to pursue a career in trucking. He also recognizes the important role professional drivers play in keeping businesses and communities moving, which has motivated him to work hard and build a future in the industry.

One of Kellan’s favorite parts of the Patterson High School Truck Driving Program has been its hands-on, in-depth approach to learning. He believes being able to see and experience concepts firsthand helps students better understand what they are learning. His proudest accomplishment came when that hard work paid off — earning his CDL on his first attempt.

Kellan encourages other students considering the program to take advantage of the knowledge and experience of their instructors. “Ask any question you can think of,” he shared, emphasizing the importance of listening and learning from instructors who have real-world industry experience. Looking ahead, Kellan sees his CDL as a pathway to a stable career and income, while also giving him the opportunity to continue his education and build a secure future for himself and his family.

Kellan’s instructor nominated him because of the tremendous growth he demonstrated throughout the semester. “It has been a pleasure watching him master his CDL technical knowledge while simultaneously developing into a confident, capable leader among his peers in the truck driving program.” His instructor also sees students like Kellan as an encouraging sign for the future of trucking, noting that this generation isn’t simply looking for a job — they want to lead, make an impact, and bring renewed passion to the transportation industry.

Congratulations to Kellan, our Next Generation in Trucking Student of the Month, for his hard work, preparation, and passion for the road.
