For many high school students, senior year is filled with uncertainty about the future. For Carlos Lopez, Technician – Sacramento, California (SAC), it marked the beginning of his career.
While attending Patterson High School in Patterson, California, Carlos participated in the Next Generation of Trucking (NGT) program, which strengthened his interest in trucking and helped launch his career.
“During this program, we had a presentation and field trip with FedEx Freight,” Carlos said. “I was so impressed that it inspired me to pursue a career with the company.”
After high school, Carlos attended trade school to become a mechanic, which led him to FedEx Freight.
Recently, Carlos came full circle when he returned to Patterson High School’s logistics fair to share his experience and highlight career opportunities in the trucking industry.
“It felt good being able to give back in some way,” he said.
